We’re changing things up in 2018, and one of the BIG changes that we’re making is to migrate our brick-and-mortar sales to an on-line platform. This does mean that we will be closing our retail location at 478 Allied Drive, but you will still be able to shop from us on-line. Of course, we are still Nashville’s leading estate and moving sale company (and we’ve got some tremendous sales coming up, no worries there!) and our sales have always been our main focus.
Our retail store was so much fun, and it allowed us to interact with many of you more often and in a different format than our estate and moving sales. So, we just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for the memories!
We started out showcasing fabulous antiques, but before long, we added a vintage clothing boutique with some of the best retro threads in town!
And All Dog Nashville was a great project…we loved meeting our pet-loving customers and their dogs and bringing a truly unique mix of items to Nashville.
From all of us to all of you…thanks for shopping with us, thanks for the fun times, and thanks for making our 2+ years of a brick-and-mortar store experience just great! We’ll keep seeing you at our sales, and you can keep shopping with us on our website, as well.
Great teammates, great workers, great friends, great deals…and lots of fun! We’re thankful for the good times and looking forward to more in 2018.
Our longtime customers and friends know that we celebrate holidays in a BIG way at the Michael Taylor company, and Easter is one of our very favorites! This year, our theme is “Get Your Easter On!” and we’re taking our annual events to the next level…you won’t just be hunting for deals this Easter weekend (although with three sales plus an on-site sale at Michael Taylor At Home, we’ve got LOTS of deals!) We’ve also got egg-citing events on Friday and Saturday and you’ll want to be there for both.
On Friday, we are hosting Easter egg hunts at EACH of our THREE estate sales, plus an additional hunt at our retail location, Michael Taylor At Home. At EACH hunt location, we’ll have 4o eggs hidden…eggs will contain candy, or money AND there will be one Grand Prize egg per hunt location. The Grand Prize is a fabulous Easter basket containing lots of goodies and a $25 gift certificate. At our Michael Taylor At Home retail store, there will also be a golden egg…this special egg will contain a “Gift for Mom”, a $100 Michael Taylor At Home gift certificate! Easter egg hunts start at 8am SHARP at our sale locations and 10 am at our Michael Taylor At Home retail store.
On Saturday, April 15th, we’ll be hosting our 4th annual Easter bonnet contest! Wear your craziest, prettiest or most fun hat and visit our Michael Taylor At Home retail store (478 Allied Dr., Nashville) to be entered to win. We’ll have first, second and third place prizes of $25, $50 and $100 gift certificates, so please come to see us at Michael Taylor At Home.
Also, we’re offering a special opportunity this weekend at Michael Taylor At Home to enter to win a flat-screen TV! With every purchase made at Michael Taylor At Home this Friday April 14 and Saturday, April 15th, you will be entered to win a fabulous, free flat screen…drawing will be at 4pm on Sat., April 15; must be present to win.
This is truly one of our most fun weeks of the year, and we can’t wait to see our fabulous clients and celebrate this fun spring holiday in style! As always, thank you for shopping with us…we appreciate your business and look forward to spending time with you this weekend at our sales AND at Michael Taylor At Home.
Holiday season is here and it’s time to deck the halls! We’ve got some fun ideas for getting into the spirit of the season, even if you’re short on time and budget.
Set a festive table! Get out the Christmas china, festive glassware and crystal. It’s time to enjoy using your “special” dinnerware…why not even for simple family meals? ‘Tis the season! We frequently feature holiday-themed dinnerware at our estate sales, so if you’re lacking that special Santa mug, check our weekly listings…we might have just what you’re looking for!
Indulge in nostalgia and special memories. Everyone has a few vintage holiday ornaments or decorative items that bring back the past…share the story behind the vintage Santa with a new generation.
Get out those fun seasonal collections and holiday displays! It’s a lot of work to set up the Christmas village or to decorate the tree, but isn’t it worth it? It’s the time of year for over-the-top decorating…enjoy every minute! We love this village set up in an old china cabinet…don’t the lights make it special?
4. Wear a festive outfit…it doesn’t have to be a Christmas sweater! (Although we think those are pretty fun!) If you haven’t been to the “Vintage Boutique” at Michael Taylor at home, you can find this retro ladies suit and lots more fun holiday garb at great prices…what are you waiting for?
And if you’re looking for food and friends, we’ve got a special holiday event coming up on Dec. 11 from 1-5 p.m. at Michael Taylor At Home…it’s our holiday open house, and we’d love to see you there! We’ve got prize drawings, refreshments and special deals…bring a friend and come say hello.
It’s a busy month, but we hope to see you at our sales and our open house…our customers are very special to us and we truly appreciate your business!
It’s no secret that we host some of Nashville’s largest estate and moving sales. While many local firms also handle single family homes, our area of specialization–and we really shine here!–is in liquidating the contents of larger properties. We have the experience, staff volume and knowledge to set even the largest of sales in 3-4 days. One of the most frequently asked questions we get from estate sale clients is, “Will you be ready to go on time?” because they can’t believe that we can clean, organize and set up large and complicated sales in such a short time frame. But, we get it done!
Supplies are key, and we bring them to each sale. Cleaning supplies, trash bags, light bulbs, extra lighting, air fresheners…we bring it all in and get right to work!
Every sale has some items that need to be thrown out to ensure that the property is clean and the areas in the home are shopable. Some homes will have larger items in need of disposal; in these cases, we call in a dumpster to make clean-up easier.
And then once the cleaning is done, we start setting the sale. All furniture, accessories, etc. are arranged and priced for easy shopping.
And once the sale is all set, we try out the bathtubs! Ha ha…no, we totally do NOT do that; our fearless leader, Michael Taylor, is just joking around in there.
This particular sale (located in Brentwood, TN, starting Friday, 7/1 and running through Monday 7/4) has something for everyone–from antiques to Craftsmen tools and cabinets.
We’ll have tons of glassware, crystal and bar accessories. The homeowner was a former antique dealer, as well, so we have some really great antiques.
Lighting, candlesticks and crystal pieces are a special feature of this sale.
Not to mention, these 12-foot tall cabinets (set of 2). Michael is in the photo to provide scale; he’s well over 6 ft tall. These are huge cabinets!
More china, glassware and lighting! This really is a huge sale. Antique dealers, take note!
Plus, we’re selling a boat. Boats, cars, jet skis…if the seller has a clear title, we’re always happy to add it to the sale! These items usually move VERY fast, so be there early if you’re looking for a vehicle or watercraft.
Our last step before opening a sale is to get out our signage…after that, we’re open for business and ready to go!
Information and more photos about this Brentwood-area sale are available under the “Estate Sale Listings” tab on the home page of our website. It’s truly a don’t-miss sale and we look forward to seeing you there!
